A plate of Hamburg Labskaus - the sailor's dish which is the origin of Liverpool's famous "scouse". Meat, onions, potatoes and beetroot (?)- all mashed together so it wouldn't slide off your plate when the sailing ship heeled in the wind - topped off with a fried egg, some raw beetroot, a lettuce leaf and a pickled herring!
